Quadruple Russian Swings
For the first time anywhere in history, Ringling Bros.® has combined two Russian Swing Troupes, the Romashov Troupe and the Skokov Troupe, to create a one-of-a-kind quadruple swing act that has acrobats crisscrossing the arena.
It takes coordination to synchronize four moving swings with 14 aerialists jumping, flipping and twisting their way from one to the other. Teamwork between these Russian and Ukrainian troupes is essential and it took almost a year to develop this exciting twist on the traditional Russian swing.
One after another the members of the troupes fly through the air crisscrossing over each other while completing front flips and back flips. The highlight of the act involves an acrobat launching from a platform and propelling 30 feet through a fire hoop two stories in the air and landing precisely on a another swinging platform.
“The act works because people work together and trust each other,” says Alexander Skokov, a featured aerialist from St. Petersburg, Russia.“Only four Russian Swing acts exist in the circus world, so Ringling Bros. audiences are lucky to see these two troupes together.” explains Alexander.
