In addition to elephants, big cats
and horses, Ringling Bros. features a wide variety of other
exotic animals ranging from alpacas to zebras. Like our gorgeous horses, many of
these are hoofed animals. Ringling Bros. is the only place where you can see so
many species interacting together in stunning performances.
Alligators
According to fossil evidence, alligators have roamed the earth for more than
200 million years! These prehistoric predators average about 500 pounds as
adults, but have been known to grow as large as 1,000 pounds or more!

Alpacas and llamas
are members of the camel family that are characterized by slender bodies, long
legs and necks, short tails, small heads and large, pointed ears.

Camels
include two species, the dromedary and the Bactrian, both found at Ringling
Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®. The dromedary has only one hump while the

Angora goats
may be the most efficient fiber producers on Earth. These makers of mohair came
from and were named after Ankara (Angora prior to 1930), a Turkish province.

Yaks
are found in the cold, dry plateaus of Tibet and nearby countries, often at
altitudes of 16,000 feet or higher. They roam icy mountainsides and valleys,
where they graze on coarse grasses.

Zebras
are fleet-footed African mammals with a distinctive coat patterned in stripes
of black or brown and white or buff. Each animal's stripe pattern is as
distinctive as a human's fingerprint.
